What Underground Drain Flushing Is
Many homes in the Chamblee and DeKalb County area have underground drainage systems that carry water from downspouts through buried pipes to a street drain, dry creek bed, or daylight exit point in the yard.
Over time these pipes collect sediment, root intrusion, and debris that constricts flow. When flow slows enough, water backs up through the downspout connection and ponds near your foundation, exactly the problem the drainage system was built to prevent.

Exit Point Verification
We confirm water is flowing freely at the exit point. No confirmed exit flow means we're not done yet.

How do I know if I have underground drains?
If your downspouts connect to a pipe that goes into the ground rather than terminating at a splash block, you likely have underground drains. They typically exit at a street drain or at a lower elevation in your yard. If you're not sure, we can help locate them during the service visit.
What if you can't clear the blockage?
If the blockage is from pipe collapse or significant root intrusion that water pressure can't move, we document what we found and tell you the next step. In some cases that means a camera inspection or pipe replacement by a drainage contractor. We'll tell you honestly what we can and can't fix.
How often do underground drains need flushing?
In most Atlanta-area homes, every 2 to 3 years is typical if there's no significant root intrusion. Homes with mature trees near the drain path may need annual service. We'll give you a recommendation based on what we find.
Can this be combined with a regular gutter cleaning?
Yes. Underground drain flushing is often added on during a regular gutter cleaning visit. Mention it when you request your quote.
