Before any of this, James served in the US Army as a weapons and fire control specialist, including a tour with the 2nd Infantry Division in South Korea and a deployment to Kuwait with the 1st Cavalry Division.
He got into construction in 2002, flipping houses and learning the trade with his hands rather than out of a manual. Two decades on, he still runs the company the way he learned to work: show up, do it properly, and be able to prove it afterward.
He started Shelter Guard in 2017 for one reason. He kept running into homeowners who had paid for exterior work and had no idea whether it had actually been done. Nobody showed them anything. So he built a company where proof is not an upsell, it is the job.

Do I need to be home?
No. As long as we can safely access your gutters, we do the work and text you the before and after photos when we're done.
Are you insured?
